Body
The login screen for the university’s Zoom service will soon change from one familiar UO login method to another.
The switch is scheduled for the evening of Thursday, August 27.
How will the Zoom login change?
- Before: You enter your Duck ID username on a Shibboleth single sign-on screen.

- After: You’ll enter your full UO email address in a Microsoft single sign-on window—like you see logging in to UO Microsoft services, UOmail, Concur, and UO VPN.

Which services are affected—and why?
- The Aug. 27 change affects only Zoom.
- The cloud-based Microsoft login provides extra resilience and continuity for cloud-based services like Zoom.
- Information Services plans to switch more UO services to the Microsoft login in the future.
- That said, Shibboleth single sign-on remains a secure and effective login method that you’ll continue to see on many UO services.
Will my Zoom experience change?
- This switch won’t affect Zoom itself.
- However, if you use Zoom through a browser, you may notice some unrelated changes to the Zoom web portal starting August 26.
